Emily Shortridge, MD Pediatric Ophthalmologist & Adult Strabismus Specialist

Arizona Strabismus Center

Meet Our Ophthalmologist
Dr. Shortridge carries 9 years of experience performing a high volume of eye muscle surgeries for adults and children in Arizona. Dr Shortridge meets hundreds of patients each year who are surprised to learn that their strabismus (ie- eye misalignment) is treatable. She aims to fulfill a large unmet need in Arizona for effective strabismus care, which often involves surgery, prism glasses, or a combination of both. Strabismus often causes double vision, but not always. Many patients come to Dr. Shortridge with an eye misalignment that prevents good eye contact and is socially disabling, often with no double vision. These patients typically do very well with surgery and have beautiful results.

Education: B.S. in Biology at Grand Canyon University. Medical Degree at University of Arizona - Phoenix. Ophthalmology residency at University of Texas Medical Branch. Fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus at MUSC Storm Eye Institute.
